VIBStand is a complete research-educational test rig for diagnosis of rotating machinery. It consists of a mechanical part and a monitoring and diagnostics system. The mechanical part, placed on a stiff support, includes a frequency inverter, a three-phase synchronous motor with a gearbox, and a shaft supported on two rolling element bearings. One of the bearings has got a simulated fault, whereas the second one is fault-free, which enables a clear presentation of rolling element bearings fault detection methods. The shaft has got an additional disc with threaded holes designed for imbalance simulation. The diagnostic part is comprised of a comprehensive diagnostics system called 'VIBex'. We offer a full version (i.e. VIBex Expert) for educational purposes. The system includes three vibration input channels and one keyphasor input channel.
VIBSTAND enables:
The test rig is equipped with three vibration sensors (accelerometers), which can be mounted on one of the eighteen prepared holes, in order to measure vibrations on a selected plane in selected construction nodes. The system has got an embedded keyphasor signal as well, measuring the rotational speed. Such configuration allows data acquisition and machine diagnosis with numerous charts (time view, frequency spectrum, frequency order spectrum, envelope analysis, trend diagram, XY plot, cascade plot, synoptic view, and alarm list). The test rig can be directly used for rotating machinery diagnostics laboratories. The offered test rig comes with a dedicated laboratory manual, which includes ten laboratory exercises. The exercises cover elements of monitoring and diagnostics systems, machine custom system configuration, and plot- based detection of most common machine faults. VIBStand gives the opportunity to conduct academic research studies, and carry a professional rotating machinery diagnostics training. |
